According to Microsoft, the online upgrade to Windows 8 Pro will be available for users in 140 countries worldwide, in 37 languages, and 23 supported currencies.”

In another interesting offer by Microsoft: if a consumer has bought or will buy any genuine Windows 7 PC between June 2, 2012 and January 31, 2013, they will be eligible for a Windows 8 upgrade for just $14.99. This offer will also be available starting October 26, 2012.

Regarding Windows 8 devices and PC’s, Microsoft said “starting today, you will be able to pre-order new Windows 8 PCs and devices from OEM partners such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Samsung and Sony.”

Win 8 is said to have a very steep learning curve. With a whole new interface and different handling than traditional Windows operating systems, it will be interesting to see how well the new system is embraced by shoppers.
