The final day of Wimbledon is here and you couldn’t have scripted a better ending as two of the sports’ biggest names, Novak Djokovic and Rodger Federer battle it out in the men’s finals.
ESPN will be covering the match live starting at 9 A.M. (EST).
This should prove to be one of the most electrifying finals in years, as both these veterans are determined to win.
Federer has made history just by playing in this game: it will be his 9th Wimbledon finals appearance (most of all players) and at 33 he will be the oldest player to reach a Grand Slam final since Andre Agassi at the 2005 U.S. Open.
He will make even more history if he wins: he is tied with Pete Sampras and William Renshaw for the most Wimbledon Championships with 7 – a win tomorrow would give him 8 and make him the all-time leader.
Federer last won here in 2012: although he hasn’t won anything since he has played spectacular here and is a proven winner.
Djojovic, meanwhile, is the No.1 seed here and has 5 Grand Slam titles in the last 3 years. He is in the prime of his illustrious career and is hungry for another title.
Federer and Djokovic have faced off numerous times, with Federer holding the edge in those contests 18.-16.
It should be a close contest but I think Federer makes history and wins his 8th title in 5 sets.
