Today is Sept. 26, which means that it is another night of Monday Night Football! It is week 3, and the Washington Redskins will play against the Dallas Cowboys at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The Cowboys (1-1) have yet to win a home opener in their new football stadium, and hope to rise to the challenge of defeating the Redskins (2-0). The Cowboys opened the first two seasons at Cowboys Stadium with losses against both the New York Giants in 2009 and the Chicago Bears in 2010.
The Redskins have opened 2-0 for the first time since 2007. Last Sunday, the Redskins beat the Arizona Cardinals 22-21.
The Cowboys have won four of their previous five games against the Redskins.
“Any time you are in a rivalry game kind of like the Bears-Packers, Cowboys-Redskins, it’s one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL,” Rex Grossman of the Redskins said in a recent interview. “It’s a very important game for both teams so it adds a little bit more adrenaline, a little bit more excitement, Monday night football, so it’s going to be a fun day.”
The Redskin’s last 3-0 start took place back in 2005, which was the last year the Redskins won a playoff game.
“To be able to get off to a 3-0 start would be huge,” Grossman said.
The game tonight will take place at 8:30 p.m. ET with live coverage from ESPN.
