Verizon’s Droid Bionic – What Makes It A “Next Gen, Super-Smartphone”?

Droid Bionic, Verizon’s new super smartphone launched today with a hefty price tag, but it is described as the most powerful smarting on the market today.

In addition to its prowess as a super smartphone, Bionic provides the ability to play games and show videos in full 1080p HD.  It is reported to allow access to a home computer’s wireless to get videos, and music off of it while away from home.  Bionic can access and also stream files from home to work computers using the free ZumoCast™ app.

Bionic includes Mach 5 machinery and is equipped with next generation DDR2 on-board RAM and a dual core 1 GHz processor that provides the ability to cruise the Web at the super speed of 4G LTE. The model includes 960 x 540 qHD clarity on a 4.3” wide screen with multi-touch capability.

Verizon boasts that Droid Bionic offers 8 megapixel still shots that maintain hi-resolution even when blown up.  It can change to video capture by the flip of a switch and produce 1080p HD video.

Verizon also announces that Bionic can be converted to more than a smartphone, using Firefox 4.0 browser, keyboard, trackpad and multi-window capabilities, on an 11.6” screen.  Bionic and Motorola LapDock are sold separately.

Right now, Verizon is offering major price discounts for those who sign up for a two-year contract when purchasing Bionic.

I'm a regular person who is passionate about writing... any kind of writing. I used to write short stories as a child. That brought me to a 35 year career as a business writer and instructional designer and developer as well as a developer of user guides, manuals, and instructional classroom aids for corporate trainees. Upon retirement, I tackled the first item on my bucket list -- to write a novel. It took many months of thought, planning, outlining, and ultimately sitting at the keyboard for months but finally, I did write my novel. So now I'm a regular person and retiree who has reinvented herself as a published author of fiction! I love researching everything and anything to satisfy many facets of my very curious personality, so it was only natural that I advance that love of research into reporting on the happenings of the day, weeks and months as to what's new on the shopping lists of merchandise buyers for fashion, and technology. Why not add to that, entertainment and the most layered and complex world of music. I love it all! I hope you'll love some of it :()
