Just like that, The Walking Dead is back on the DISH Network.
AMC and DISH patched up their differences last week, in time for the second episode of The Walking Dead season 3 to appear on DISH.
However, it was done with very little notification to current DISH customers. Therefor, AMC will reshow both the first and second episodes of season 3, immediately prior to the third episode, this coming Sunday, October 28.
We reported back in June that AMC and DISH were on the outs. A disagreement regarding either licensing fees, or a previous contract that was broken (depending on which company was doing the talking) resulted in DISH pulling AMC programming off the satellite network on June 30, 2012.
Since then, AMC has run a withering campaign against DISH. AMC ran ads on its sites, online content, and television ads, reminding viewers shows such as The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, and Mad Men, were not available on DISH. They also encouraged DISH subscribers to switch to other satellite or cable providers.
It appears that has all been put behind them now.
In a statement, Dave Shull, senior VP of programming at DISH said “”We are glad to partner again with DISH Network and are delighted to bring back our popular channels and programming to their customers.”
This Sunday, AMC will air The Walking Dead S3 episode 3, at it’s regularly scheduled 9 PM ET/8 Central. It will also show the season 3 premier at 7 PM ET/6 Central central, and episode 2 at 8 PM ET/7 Central.
