While it’s obvious from the season 9 finale of Supernatural that audiences are in for a dose of Demon Dean in season 10, show-runner Jeremy Carver is giving away even more spoilers on the 2014 Summer TCA Press Tour!
After a long history of fans begging for a musical episode, Carver told E! News that they plan on delivering with the series’ 200th episode:
“I think it’ll be one of the more amusing and engaging episodes we’ve done in a while. I think we can safely call this a meta episode. We’re going pretty meta. I would just describe it as something of a love letter to our fans and there will be songs.”
No one was willing to comment on whether or not the show’s stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles would be doing the singing in the episode, but several insiders, including the stars themselves, hinted at dancing.
Mark Pedowitz, President of The CW Network, expressed his interest in the show’s continuation to E! News as well. He said that he wants the show to continue past its 10th season, but it’s up to the ratings and actors.
“I would love to see Supernatural go beyond Season 10. I am a big fan of the show, I’ve seen every episode; big fan of Jared and Jensen. If the show continues the way it’s doing, and the boys want to do it, we’re in.”
Pedowitz has also said that he is open to a different Supernatural spinoff after the flop of Supernatural: Bloodlines.
“We have told Jeremy [Carver] and Eric [Kripke] and Bob Singer that we are very open to do another spinoff. We are waiting for them to come in with whatever the new idea or concept is. I would love to get a Supernatural spinoff done, it’s a great franchise that has a lot of life to it.”
