Super Bowl tickets are available, according to reports from distributors.
Super Bowl XLV will be played on February 6, 2011, at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Kickoff is planned for approximately 5:25pm Central time (6:25pm ET, 4:25pm MT, 3:26pm PT). The game will pit the AFC champion Pittsburgh Steelers against the NFC champion Green Bay Packers to decide the NFL’s Champion for this past season.
At face value, Super Bowl tickets range from about $600 to $1200 dollars. But it will be near impossible to find them within that range.
Stubhub announced yesterday that they had 1800 Super Bowl tickets on sale through their site. Starting prices were about $2,500. They also have tickets to the plaza party starting around $300 (face value on those were $200). Stubhub reported yesterday that fans had paid, on average, $3,102 per ticket over the last 24 hours.
Consumer organizations are warning potential buyers of the dangers of counterfeit tickets, and recommend doing business with legitimate sites and paying by credit card so that there is paper trail.
Jeanette Kopko, the spokesman for the Dallas Better Business Bureau, said of online offers: “You don’t really know who’s behind it, and you should know who the seller is.”
More than 90,000 tickets are expected to be sold for Super Bowl XLV.
