With Super Bowl XLVIII less than a few hours away, excitement is definitely brewing among sports and film fans alike!
While sports fans can enjoy the big game, the commercials give movie-goers the opportunity to catch glimpses of some of the year’s most highly anticipated blockbusters.
Movie studios used to believe in waiting until the big game to debut their action-filled Super Bowl trailers.
However, that is no longer the case.
Nowadays, it appears as if the standard is to debut a small teaser in anticipation for the full trailer that will be shown during the game.
In other words, a trailer for a trailer.
For example, Sony has already released the first half of a brand new big game trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which you can view below.
Additionally, a teaser for Captain America: The Winter Soldier (which you can also view below) also debuted last week, prompting viewers to tune into the big game in order to catch the full version.
With all that said, which trailers can we still expect to see during today’s big game?
Well, in addition to the second half of the Spider-Man 2 trailer and the complete version of the Captain America 2 trailer, BusinessInsider.com reports that we can also expect to see new trailers for Need for Speed, Transformers: Age of Extinction, RoboCop, the Seth Rogen comedy Neighbors, and the Russel Crowe adventure-drama Noah.
We can also expect to see new trailers for the two upcoming Kevin Costner films Draft Day and 3 Days to Kill.
Super Bowl XLVIII airs tonight at 6:30 PM ET on FOX (live from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey).
Which of the trailers mentioned above are you excited to see?
