The first few episodes of Star Wars Rebels are now available on the official Star Wars website.
From now until December 7, StarWars.com will feature the pilot movie “Spark of the Rebellion”, as well as the first four episodes of the Disney XD animated series for free streaming.
Rebels is the first Star Wars animated series to be produced after the acquisition of the franchise by Disney. It is also one of the first major projects in Lucasfilm’s new initiative to create a brand new, strong continuity between the previous films, the upcoming films, and new multimedia projects, which include animation, video games, novels, etc.
The series takes place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope; it follows the adventures of a motley crew of outlaws as they thwart the Empire’s long-term plans for planet Lothal.
Individual episodes are currently available for $2.99 on iTunes and $1.99 on Amazon Instant Video, and $29.99 for the entire season on both sites. So this is a great opportunity for fans to try out the series and catch up on the beginning of the season before the mid-season hiatus.
