Samsung Galaxy S III To Launch In April?

Samsung will soon launch the next generation of their very popular Galaxy S line of smartphones, according to a report from ZDNet Korea and relayed by way of BGR.

Just yesterday we were reporting on the Samsung Galaxy S II receiving the award for being the best smartphone of 2011 from this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung has sold more than 20 million of the S II models in 10 months.

According to BGR, ZDNet Korea says they confirmed with Samsung’s advertising agency that the new Samsung Galaxy S III will be launched in the UK in April. The S II model was launched in the UK quite a while before the smartphone came to the major US carriers, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The UK got it in May, and the US carriers not until the fall. It’s unknown if there will be a similar delay with the Samsung Galaxy S III.

BGR has also published the specs the Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to have. Those include a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) as the OS. An 4.8 inch screen. A 2 megapixal front facing camera and an 8 megapixal rear facing camera. And a ceramic case.
