We’ve all tried candles and sprays to get rid of the unpleasant odors our pets produce, but masking odors with an overly-perfumey smell just makes the original stench worse. Pet Odor Exterminator products claim to rid your spaces of nose-scrunching smells while giving off a light, pleasant scent, but do these products really perform as the company claims?
I can tell you first-hand that they most certainly do. When I’m not writing about the pet industry, I work as a veterinary technician at my local animal hospital, and, let me tell you, there are some impressive pet odors concocted within those walls, which is why Pet Odor Exterminator candles are our go-to product to euthanize those pungent smells.
How They Work
Every product in the Pet Odor Exterminator line is formulated with specific enzymes that actually remove the odors, instead of just masking them with apple pie or orange sunset scents like other brands do (I will never understand how companies can make a scent out of a sunset…).
The brand may be called Pet Odor Exterminator, but these products can conquer just about any stench you waft its way. Pet odors, burned foods, bathrooms, musty basements, home gyms, and teenage boys’ rooms are just a few of the smells these products can terminate, and I’m sure you’ll find more uses than that!
Pet Odor Exterminator offers air freshener spray (2.5oz. and 7oz.), automobile air fresheners (a.k.a. “Car Candles”), 13oz. candles (which burn for 70 hours), fabric spray, and reed diffusers.
Although the company comes out with seasonal fragrances, it also offers year-round fragrances such as Clothesline Fresh, Mulberry and Spice, Lavender with Chamomile, Creamy Vanilla, and Fresh Strawberries.
Where To Purchase
The cheapest place to buy these products would be at your local veterinary clinic. Websites such as Amazon and Chewy.com sell them too, but you’ll pay more with shipping and handling fees (close to $20 for one candle).
The Bottom Line
The bottom line? Pet Odor Exterminator products are the cat’s meow. I highly recommend them! The only product I have experience with is the candles, but if the products work as well as they do, they’re worth every penny because the candles can get rid of the stench from an infected dogs anal glands!
