October On Syfy: Lots Of Spooks – But No Ghost Hunters Live

In October, Syfy goes from science fantasy to ultra spooky with a collection of movies and TV shows designed to scare the mask off of you.

It begins this Wednesday, October 3 with a special 90-minute episode of Paranormal Witness, where they’ll look into the most famous case of alien abduction, that of Travis Walton.

On Saturday, October 13, step inside the American Horror House. This Syfy original movie stars Morgan Fairchild and Alessandra Torresani. It’s Halloween night at the sorority house but it’s all tricks, no treats when the house-mom goes on a killing spree.

Haven is always spooky, but the show gets a Halloween twist on October 26 when Audrey, Nathan and Duke get trapped in Haven’s most haunted house.

Then, it’s Rise of the Zombies, another Syfy original movie, airing on Saturday, October 27. , LeVar Burton (Star Trek: The Next Generation), Danny Trejo and French Stewart (3rd Rock from the Sun) and Mariel Hemingway star in this film about a zombie plague that threatens the entire world. In order to save the day, the heroes must locate the one scientist who may have found a cure for the disease.

There are even more zombies in the special Halloween edition of Scare Tactics with Tracy Morgan. That airs Monday, October 29.

This year, Syfy is passing on their traditional Halloween night Ghost Hunters Live episode. Jason Hawes, a co-producer and one of the main stars on the show, wrote on his site: “I want everyone to know that I chose to spend this year with my kids. I love doing the live show and appreciate the support but have missed way to many Halloweens with My HAWESOME kids. Thanks for understanding and your continued support.”

Instead of Ghost Hunters Live, Syfy will be broadcasting the finale for Face Off, live. Airing on Halloween night, a live studio audience will help choose the winning make-up artist in this competition series.
