NFL Lockout Over – When Do The Games Begin?

Today comes news that the NFL lockout is just about run it’s course. While it’s not official yet, several sources are reporting that a deal is done and now it’s just formalities. At this point, reps from each team are set to recommend the deal to the other players on their team, and then players are to vote on re-forming the union to officially agree on the deal. Players are reported to be headed to training camps later this week, barring any last minute disasters.

While there are a lot of details, specifics and legalities that still must be worked out, it appears that this time (as opposed to last week) the sides have actually come to an agreement.

“I’m fired up because I can see the light,” said Arizona Cardinal Darnell Dockett on the NFL Network. “We’re ready. Where do we need to be? What time to we need to be there?” he added.

“Nearly the entire preseason schedule will be saved,” said Don Bank’s, of SI.

But first up will be getting players back to training camps. Then there will be a mad scramble to sign up free agents. Tuesday of next week is the first day that teams will be able to sign their draft picks.

As for the preseason games – the Hall of Fame Game that was to be played August 7th is cancelled, but the remainder of the preseason is said to be a ‘go’ at this point. The preseason games that have been scheduled for TV times so far, according to the NFL, are:
