Millions Spent On Improving Verizon Service In Virginia

Verizon, the largest carrier in Virginia, announced last week that they spent more than $752 million on IT and telecommunication improvements in the state last year.

The improvements include upgrades to Verizon’s Internet service and FiOS television, which is now available to more than 1.23 million homes and businesses.

The carrier also increased the speed of Fiber-optic link deployment to Verizon’s cellular sites throughout Virginia.

President for Verizon’s Potomac region Chris Childs said in a statement that the economic health of the state and its people is tied to robust telecommunications networks, and the investments by the carrier provide a prescription for growth.

He went on to say that their infrastructure removes traditional technology barriers, allowing businesses and people to connect wherever, however and whenever they want. This creates borderless opportunities that will benefit employees, suppliers and customers.

Verizon continues to improve its service in the state from where it had a lot of outage complaints few years ago.
