Magnitude 3.8 Earthquake In Indiana

Residents were shaken up Thursday by the magnitude 3.8 earthquake in Indiana, but little damage was caused by the tremor.

The quake occurred 50 miles north of Indianapolis at around 7:55 am. It only lasted a few seconds but left many residents wondering if there had been an explosion nearby. Reports indicate that the earthquake in Indiana was felt quite a distance away.

Reports from people in Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky and Wisconsin show that the tremor from the earthquake in Indiana was far reaching. There were even some reports from as far away as New Jersey, North Carolina and Virginia.

Residents did report some minor damage to things such as windows and gutters, but nothing substantial was reported. The Department of Transportation was inspecting bridges near the epicenter to ensure there was no damage to them.
