Jani Lane, Lead Singer Of Warrant Found Dead In Hotel Room [Video]

Jani Lane, the former lead singer of the popular 80s’ band Warrant, was found dead Thursday evening in Los Angeles.

The 47-year-old Lane was pronounced dead by fire department personal who responded to the call around 5:30 p.m. in a Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills.

The cause of Lane’s death is currently unknown and is under investigation.

Warrant’s first two albums – “Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich” (1989) and “Cherry Pie” (1990) – sold over 2 million copies each, reaching double-platinum status.

Lane was best known for Warrant’s hit song “Cherry Pie,” which he wrote and which featured a guitar solo by Poison’s C.C. DeVille.

Friend and Poison singer Bret Michaels said in regards to hearing about Lane’s passing: “We’d like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of Jani Lane regarding their loss. Respectfully, Bret and all at MEGI.”

Former MTV VJ Martha Quinn also expressed her feelings, writing, “Super sad news. Janie Lane, dead at 47 … #RIP Jani Lane” on Twitter.

A number of other Lane’s friends also posted about his death, including Slash, Tommy Lee, Steven Adler, Stephen Pearcy, and Chris Jericho.
