Gingerbread 2.3.4 Update Available For Galaxy S II – But Unofficial

Samsung Galaxy S II is the best-selling phone from Samsung and untill now there is not much to complain about with this phone.

Still, there are those who always want the best from their phones, especially smartphones. For them, Samsung Galaxy S II is going to be blessed with an update of its Gingerbread version to 2.3.4, and that makes it even better.

The official Android 2.3.4 update for Galaxy S II is not out yet, but the leaked update is already available on a Samsung based firmware site, along with a ‘do it yourself’ guide.

Android 2.3.4 for Galaxy S II brings nothing very important or revolutionary. The major changes are inclusion of video support in Google Talk, better battery life and network reception, and some security fixes. The update doesn’t look like much up front, but you will feel the change and smoothness after spending a few minutes with the phone after the update.

Installing from the unofficial source entails risk, of course, and may void the warranty. The official update shouldn’t be far off, though, and will be found on carrier’s websites.
