Games For Cats is a new computer game from Friskies, designed to be played by cats. According to Friskies, which is part of the Nestlé Purina PetCare Company, the colors, movement, and game-play of the three games was researched and tested to maximize cat enjoyment.
The games can be played on iPad and Android touchscreen tablet. The names of the games are ‘Cat Fishing’, ‘Tasty Treasure Hunt’, and ‘Party Mix Up’. The cat games consists of different shapes and movements that burst into colors or disappear when the cat paws at them on the touch screen.
But what about sharp claws on a touchscreen? Friskies says the glass touchscreen will hold up fine, but adds that claws on a plastic screen protector may be toast. “The bare glass screen on the iPad® stands up to our cat’s claws with no problems” Friskies says on it’s site. “But please be aware that a cat’s sharp claws could possibly damage add-on plastic film covers.”
The games are free and are available through gamesforcats.com. Ryan Gass, assistant brand manager for Friskies, said of the games for cats, “To develop these games for cats, we learned what truly appealed to them. Now we know their favorite colors, types of movement and their general game-play attitudes. We also found out that they cannot play pinball.”
