FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011: Argentina Vs England – Time, Channel, Streaming Info, & More

Argentina will verse England tonight (August 1) in Medellin, Colombia. The football (or soccer if you’re from North America) game will be aired on ESPN2 starting at 8:30 pm ET/1:00 GMT.

A live stream of tonight’s game can be found on Ustream.tv, SportsCancer.com, as well as SoccerLiveInfo-TV.blogspot.com.

In England, Argentina is regarded as one of the major rivals of the English football team, along with countries such as Scotland and Germany. The same rivalry is also felt in Argentina.

Argentina and England have played each other twice at the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Agentina won 2-1 in 1997, while the game in 1981 ended in a goalless draw. Their most recent meeting came in the last 16 of the FIFA U-17 World Cup that took place earlier this summer, which England won 4-2 via penalties after a 1-1 draw.

“There are positives to take from the first match, but there are also lots of things we need to work on,” said England winer Matthew Phillips. “It’s true that there’s a certain rivalry with Argentina. I hope we’ll be up to the task and that we can finally record a victory.”

“The opening victory doesn’t relieve any of the pressure on us, because Argentina always have to win at tournaments like this,” states Argentina’s coach Walter Perazzo. “But it’s true that an opening victory is always good for self-confidence.”
