Canon PowerShot SX10 IS Digital Camera Review

The Canon Powershot SX210 is one of Canon’s newest digital camera releases. The new digital camera is currently available on the market for $299.99.

Canon boasts improvements over it’s S-series of digital cameras. The newer SX series of cameras are smaller, lighter, and contain more features. The SX210, a direct update to the SX200 features a 14x zoom and more user-friendly operating interface.

The SX210 features a 3.0″ widescreen LCD with a 230K resolution. The screen displays a standard 4:3 ratio when shooting images, but users get the 16:9 widescreen display when shooting in movie mode.

According to Canon, the 14z zoom lens (28mm – 392mm) makes the Powershot ideal for a variety of unique applications including group pictures in tight areas, expansive landscape pictures, and getting a shot of far off nature and wildlife.

The SX210 also features an optical image stabilization system that prevents blur and maintains picture quality in dimly lit indoor venues. Auto Focus features the same three modes as the SX200, face AF, tracking AF, and center AF.

Canon says the SX210 is good for about 260 exposures or 3000 minutes of video on its full-charged NB-5L lithium rechargeable battery. Controls are standard and straight-forward for beginner’s to professional photographer.

The camera’s video quality is quite high, allowing for HD movies to be shot in 1280×720 at 30 fps. Image files are said to be the sharpest available in the SX Canon line of cameras. The camera can be bought from Canon’s website or at a variety of electronics stores.
