Black Friday Pepper Sprayer May Sue Walmart

The woman who was accused of pepper spraying her fellow Black Friday shoppers in an attempt to beat them to a deal on xBoxs is now reported to be considering suing Walmart.

Police now say the woman, 32 year old Elizabeth Macias, may have been acting in self defense. The Los Angeles Police Department described her as a “competitive shopper” when the news of the pepper spraying first broke – but now say that “There was no control. People were getting stampeded and trampled. There were people screaming, yelling that they were being trampled or crushed.”

Michael Champ, an attorney representing Macias, told Los Angeles’ KCAL News that Macias’ two teenage children were being trampled, punched and kicked by the crowd.

The lawsuit, if filed, would reportedly claim that Walmart did not provide sufficient security for the Black Friday sales event. The pepper spraying reportedly affected about 20 people. Macias went to a police station later on Black Friday and identified herself as the woman who had triggered the pepper spray.
