The Baltimore Ravens came through with a decisive 30-7 victory against the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, securing their January 15th match-up with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Matt Cassel, Chiefs’ quarterback, had a rough night with three intercepted passes, and only 70 passing yards for the entire game.
Cassel had no trouble owning up to his mistakes, telling reporters, “This one hurts, it really does sting. I felt going into the game that we had a great chance to win, we had a great week of practice and it really came down to the second half and turnovers … and it starts with me.”
The Chiefs started out with high hopes following Jamaal Charles’ 41 year touchdown early in the game, thrusting them into a 7-3 lead.
Quarterback Joe Flacco managed to snatch it back for the Ravens in the second quarter with a deft 9 yard pass straight into the end zone.
Safety Ed Reed headed up the Ravens’ formidable defense with four tackles. Reed’s brother has been missing since Friday, when he leaped into the Mississippi river to escape police.
