Apple has a deal for college students and teachers of all grade levels this fall.
They’re offering gifts cards with purchase of an iPhone, iPad or Mac, from now until September 6, 2013.
When college students purchase a qualifying iPhone or iPad, they will receive a $50 gift card to Apple’s App Store.
Purchase of an eligible Mac awards students with a $100 gift card.
The gift cards can be used at the App Store, iTunes Store, Mac App Store, and iBookstore.
There are some catches and restrictions of course.
In order to receive the gift card, the buyer must be “a college student, a student accepted to a college, a parent buying for a college student, or a faculty or staff member from any grade level” according to Apple’s Back to School program.
The same terms apply for Apple’s education discount for the Mac. iPads and iPhones are not eligible for education pricing.
Apple’s college deal also contains restrictions on where the devices can be purchased.
An iPhone can only be purchased at the Apple store or website to qualify for the special offer. Those purchased at an Apple Authorized Campus Store are not eligible.
The iPad or Mac however, can be purchased from an Apple store, Apple.com, or a participating Apple Authorized Campus Store.
Other ways to save include shopping during tax-free weekends in participating states and taking advantage of shipping discounts.
Free shipping is being offered for orders placed online.
Students ordering online can also arrange for in-store pick up at an Apple store of their choice.
