Amazon is giving away 10 free digital video cameras in a category naming sweepstakes they are holding right now,
Amazon is starting up a new category on their site. According to Amazon, they currently have a wide variety of “wearable cameras” for sale through Amazon.com. But they feel that the name “wearable cameras” doesn’t quite fit as a description. The category they want to put together will contain devices that can be attached to people… but also to bikes, surfboards, even paintball guns.
So Amazon wants your help in naming this new category. Contestants will be competing for either a GoPro HD Helmet Hero Camera or a Contour+ Plus Camera. Five of each will be given away.
The way Amazon has this set up is contestants entering between August 10 and August 16 will be competing for the GoPro HD Helmet Hero Cameras, which have a retail value of $300. Contestants entering the sweepstakes between August 17 to August 23 will compete for the Contour+ Plus Cameras cameras, which have a retail value of $500. Five each of these wearable digital video cameras will be given away.
To enter the sweepstakes, contestants must click on the sweepstakes tab at: www.facebook.com/amazoncamera, then click on the “like” button, and complete the online entry form. Contestants must have a Facebook account and be logged in to “like” the page.
It’s important to note that this is not actually a contest for who can give Amazon the best name for the category. Rather it’s a sweepstakes with a random drawing amongst all entries for those two specific time periods. The drawing for the GoPro HD Helmet HERO Camera is scheduled to be held on August 17. The drawing for the Contour+ Plus Camera is scheduled to be held on August 24.
