Amazon announced it’s bringing their same day delivery service to six more U.S. cities, including Baltimore, Dallas, Indianapolis, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington DC metro areas.
This has doubled the number of US cities currently eligible for Amazon’s same-day delivery service and includes Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Seattle.
Starting today, shoppers who place their orders before noon in these newly participating cities can receive same-day delivery on over 1 million items in the Amazon Store.
Same-day delivery cut off times do vary slightly by city, so shoppers should check Amazon’s website to confirm by what time they need to place their order to receive same-day delivery.
Same-day delivery is available seven days a week for Amazon Prime members, for only $5.99. Non-Prime members will be charged $9.98 for the first same-day delivery item and $0.99 for each additional item.
With over 1 million products in their same-day delivery inventory, shoppers can choose from a number of items for the sake of convenience, including health and beauty, new releases movies and video games, baby goods including diapers and formula, back to school supplies, and other household basics.
Shoppers can find all eligible same-day delivery items under the “Get It Today” filter, located below the “Amazon Prime” filter on the left-hand navigation panel.
Amazon first began offering same-day delivery in 2009. With an impressive roster of now 12 cities offering same-day delivery across the United States, brick-and-mortar stores will face even more competition from the online retailer giant.
