Match-ups and Predictions
Here is a look at each game, along with our predictions:
·Wizards vs Raptors: Many fans are less than excited about this ho-hum series, but it could turn interesting with an upset by Toronto.
Even though the Wizards faltered in the 2nd half of the season with a below 500 record, they are still contenders thanks to the play of John Wall and a stellar defense.
The Raptors, on the other hand, have a weak defense, but an explosive offense, and can upset Washington if they stay focused. Game 1 goes to the Raptors, who win 6.
·Pelicans vs Warriors: All eyes will be on Golden State, and rumored MVP Stephen Curry, as they take on the #8 seed in what should be an easy series.
New Orleans started to get healthy towards the end of the season and have a good offense around Anthony Davis, but are simply outmatched.
Many are calling for the Warriors to win it all, so unless a miracle occurs, Golden State takes Game 1 and the series in 5.
·Bucks vs Bulls: This is another series fans will be watching closely now that Chicago has Derrick Rose back.
Rose has been plagued with injuries and has only been back a few weeks since knee surgery, but odds are the former MVP will be on point.
The Bulls also have a strong defense, which could be a problem for a Bucks team that has struggled offensively against this team in the past.
The Bucks Michael Carter-Williams could give Chicago a problem, but Chicago is motivated, as is Rose.
Look for Chicago to take game 1 and win the series in 6.
·Mavericks vs Rockets: It’s a Texas-sized showdown with these 2 teams and fans are sure to enjoy every minute of it.
The Rockets are no sure thing, thanks to injuries that have weakened their depth. But James Harden is hard to stop, giving them a big boost on offense.
The Mavs, meanwhile, have seen Dirk Nowitzki playing more and more like his old self – which can mean big trouble for Houston – and have the explosive Rajon Rondo to help them stay competitive.
This should be a tight series, and while most see the Rockets winning, I give them game 1, but think Dallas wins in 7.
