Tonight Fox’s The X Factor 2013 continued with another round of auditions.
With a slew of terribly nutty and ridiculous performances, the question remains who impressed?
Well, let’s dig deeper into our favorite performances of the night!
Riley Brown performs Clarity by Zed
Although she forgot the lyrics, Riley Brown was able to pick herself back up and deliver a strong performance of Zed’s “Clarity.” She infused the song with sweet sounding runs and displayed a beautiful vibrato to her voice.
Simon Cowell remarked, “So you messed up, but who cares when you got a voice like that. I absolutely love you. The maturity in your voice and your control, you are one to watch.”
Paulina Rubio said she was pleased with her talent, while Demi Lovato pronounced, “You have a wonderful tone to your voice. It doesn’t sound like you’re 15.”
Kelly Rowland emphasizes, “I want you to be here with us in the competition.”
Jeff Brinkman performs Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful”
Brinkman gave an absolutely flawless performance of Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful.” He exuded soul with his raspy, yet soothing tone.
Kelly said, “I love how sincere you are and you mean every word and that’s so beautiful and genuine.”
Paulina expressed, “I love your raspy voice. You’re fresh and original and I really enjoyed your performance tonight.”
Demi described Brinkman’s voice as a beautiful recording voice, while Simon proclaimed “that was a brilliant vocal. You just got a naturally great voice. That was a fantastic audition. I really really like you.”
Rachel Potter performs Queen’s “Somebody to Love”
Rachel Potter wowed us with her impeccably original country version of Queen’s “Somebody To Love.”
She colored the song with crazy runs and displayed an unbelievably breathe taking upper and lower register. We can honestly say that we can totally see Potter being a chart topping country artist.
Potter received a well deserved standing ovation by Demi, Paulina and Kelly.
Demi even declared, “You have the look. You have the best voice I’ve heard. This industry is ready for you.”
Simone Torres performs Wilson Pickett’s “Mustang Sally”
Torres gave a jaw dropping performance of Wilson Pickett’s “Mustang Sally.”
She not only impressed us with her powerhouse vocals, but also had great stage presence as she got the audience up on their feet.
Paulina noted, “You’re so fresh. I didn’t expect you to sing that well.”
Kelly professed, “I think this was one of the best auditions we have had all day today.”
Simon stated: “This was the best audition. You really really are special.”
RoXxy Montana performs Jennifer Hudson’s “One Night Only”
We are still in awe of the sister trio RoXxy Montana!
While they gave a solid performance of Jennifer Hudson’s “One Night Only,” it was when judge Kelly Rowland requested for them to sing an alternate song that got us screaming in sheer amazement.
The trio took us to church with their alternate song choice and boy oh boy we were left stunned and moved by their passionately heartfelt and powerfully strong vocals.
They harmonized perfectly together, while each sister displayed equally stellar vocals.
Kelly said, “Y’all sing your faces off. When y’all come together it is something so special, I love y’all.”
Paulina stated: “You blew us away,” but it was Simon who gave the biggest compliment of all.
He remarked, You are really really good together. This is potentially the best group we have ever had on X Factor.”
