What to Watch Paralympics Day 1

A second wave of world class athletes has moved into Sochi, Russia.

Twelve days ago the world bid farewell to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Later today, Sochi will once again welcome world class athletes.

Over the next nine days, Sochi will host the Paralympic Winter Games. The Paralympics give disabled athletes the opportunity to represent their country on an international stage.

Athletes compete with a variety of disabilities including mobility impairments and blindness. They will bring world class skills and talent to a variety of events including snowboarding and sled hockey.

The United States will be well represented in Sochi once again. There are seventy-four athletes along with six guides who will be representing the red, white, and blue.

Fans who cannot make the trip to Sochi still have plenty of opportunities to support the athletes as they strive for gold. This morning NBCSN will kick off it’s coverage with live coverage of the opening ceremonies. The ceremonies are scheduled to run from 11 am to 1 pm.

There will also be opportunities to catch action on NBC. The complete television schedule can be found at NBCOlympics.com. Fans can also enjoy the action online by visiting TeamUSA.org.
