Visually Striking 2015 Chrysler 300 Shows Off New Body And Tech

The unmistakable Chrysler 300 has received a much needed nip and tuck job.

The new body lines are more sculpted, the new face bolder and more dignified, and  the rear end is far more appealing.

The news just gets better.

The reworked engines are said to have class leading fuel economy, and the pricing starts the same as the outgoing model.

There a 4 models and the prices are as follows:

300 Limited — U.S. MSRP $31,395 (plus $995 destination)
300S — U.S. MSRP $34,895 (plus $995 destination)
300C — U.S. MSRP $37,895 (plus $995 destination)
300C Platinum — U.S. MSRP $42,395 (plus $995 destination)

The new 2015 Chrysler 300 has the most luxurious cabin yet.

It can be had with hand sanded wood, quilted nappa-leather seats, and Frau leather wrapped panel and instrument console.

Standard across the models will be a rotary dial to control the transmission, which is an 8 speed automatic.

In the S version this transmission is capable of gear changes as quick as 250 milliseconds. These rapid fire shifts can be executed by pulling the paddle-shifters when the rotary gear selector is turned to S.

On the theme of selectable performance, there is an available S button as well. This button enables sport-tuned steering; pedal, engine and transmission calibration; plus rear-biased torque on AWD models.

On the Tech front the 2015 Chrysler 300 offers the Uconnect Access system with roadside assistance, theft-alarm notification, voice texting, the latest 3-D navigation on the segment’s largest 8.4-inch touchscreen and the ability to turn the Chrysler 300 into a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Apparently there are more than 80 available safety and security features, including new for 2015 Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus, Adaptive Cruise Control-Plus with Full Stop, Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist and 9-1-1 call/Assist Call.

As for the other 75, your guess is as good as mine, but this likely includes ABS and traction control, you know all the standard kit we expect.

There are two available engines, a V6 and a V8.

The V6 is the Pentastar 3.6L now produces 292 h.p in base form and 300 h.p. in S models. The fuel economy estimates are 19 mpg city and 31 highway for a combined 23 mpg, that’s very good especially considering the size of this car.

The V8 is Chrysler’s 5.7 HEMI, making 363 h.p. and 394 lb-ft, propelling you to 60 from a standstill in under 6 seconds and scoring an impressive 16 mpg city and 25 mpg highway. The engine shuts down up to 4 cylinders depending on load to provide a frugal commute.

By offering a five-year/100,000 mile warranty coverage with roadside assistance, Chrysler shows real confidence in their new chariot.

With its new body, refreshed interior and fuel sipping engines the future looks bright for this modern nod to a fifties icon.
