Fans of ‘The Walking Dead’ may want to set their DVR’s. AMC is running a marathon of the entire 5th season starting tonight.
The marathon will run from 8 P.M. (EST) tonight (Saturday, March 28) until the season 5 finale airs tomorrow night at 9 P.M. (EST).
Every episode from season 5 will be shown in order and in their entirety.
SPOILERS AHEAD – do NOT read ahead if you are n0t up to date.
As fans know this 5th season has been a real roller coaster for both the characters and fans as we’ve watched the group go from utter despair to finding “utopia” in Alexandria (we think).
We lost a lot of beloved characters this season and according to “Walking Dead’ Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd fans can expect more of the same in the final episode.
Hurd told Entertainment Weekly that ” you can rest assured that not only walker blood will be spilled” and that: “there will be a few surprises and some sad losses that no one, I think, will be able to predict.”
That last sentence in particular means Dead fans should have some tissues ready – odds are we will be saying goodbye to someone dear once again.
As far as who will die that would be a surprise, here are a few options: it could be Jesse’s son Sam (he dies in the comics) or Sasha since she’s injured, but I feel like it is going to be a core member.
In the comics the W we have been seeing leads to the group coming across the most evil character to date and that character brutally murders Glenn.
While I don’t think the show will follow the comics to a tee, I do believe we will see a close approximation of those events (maybe with a different victim)- so the finale could be really disturbing.
Of course, it’s all guesswork until the show airs- here’s hoping I’m wrong.
The season 5 finale of ‘The Walking Dead’ airs Sunday night at 9 P.M. (EST) on AMC and will run 90 minutes, with a bonus scene after the credits roll, so DON’T move.
