The Nintendo Direct: Check Out What’s Coming Up!

Many gamers and fans alike witnessed the Nintendo Direct, a presentation revealing Nintendo’s plans for Spring 2015.

The entire presentation delivered fans a 46 minute unveiling of games, services and even new devices. If you wish to watch the video yourself, you can find it on Nintendo’s main page.

This post may be a bit long, but I will do my best to condense information.

For those of you short on time, a summary of the happenings is presented below:

Fire Emblem – A cult-favorite for many on the Nintendo Gameboy, a new installment of the Fire Emblem series makes its way on the Nintendo 3DS.

Featuring a more dynamic story-line which can be shaped by the smallest decisions; which will “affect the game’s world in new ways.”

The release date has yet to be announced.

Monster Hunter 4 – A huge hit for many fans. The classic Co-Op monster hack-n’slash game is now coming to the 3DS. It will also have a themed 3DS bundle.

Set to be available on February 13.

Legacy Wii Titles moving to WiiU – Many legacy titles from the Nintendo Wii are returning to the Wii U.

Before, to play any Wii game on the Wii U, users had to switch to “Wii Mode”, which caused hassles for many users.

Now, users can buy the game in the store to download directly to the console and play without switching between modes.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is available now.

Punch-Out!! will be available on January 22.

Metroid Prime Trilogy will be available on January 29.

Mario Party 10 – Family favorite among many fans, this digital board game has always been one of the major titles that Nintendo has to offer.

The game will also release with several other additions, including six Amiibo figurines of Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser and Toad.

The game features a dedicated Amiibo mode which allows players to use the figurines in the real world to control them in-game. Additionally, these Amiibo figures have functionality for other games as well.

The game will be available March 20.

Splatoon – A kid-friendly third-person shooter by Nintendo, features a hub-styled world in which players can interact with other inhabitants, called ‘Inklings.’

Players can then choose to battle in online multi-player battles between other Inklings to gain in-game currency for use in customization and weaponry.

The game will be available in May 2015.

New Nintendo 3DS XL – The next edition to the 3DS family comes with new features.

A more powerful processor which allows for faster operation of the software and hardware in the game. Games load quicker and everything is more responsive.

Comes with several add-ons, such as a built-in NFC (Near Field Communication) which allows for the use of Amiibo figures, a C-stick which allows for easier camera management and much more.

The device is set to release on February 13.

Here’s the release dates for some more popular games. Check the main website of Nintendo for more information.

Fossil Fighters: Frontier will be available on March 20.

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars will be available March 5th.
