The Mint App Can Save You Money

1208043_15183565I have been using Mint for a number of years — and I am not being paid to endorse it here — but I endorse Mint to help save you money.

How does it work?

For starters, it is a free App and website that is a part of the Intuit family.

All you have to do to get started is connect your various money accounts; banks, credit cards, and student loans to Mint and let the system pull in all your transactions.

Once you get your spending and income data into the system, that’s when the real power of the site comes into play.

First, categorize your spending and income so you can review where all your hard-earned-pennies are going. You might be surprised how much you’re spending on coffee or dining out.

Second, and once you know where you are spending your money, create budgets. This part may be tough to do, but this is where Mint really begins to save you money. The goal is to at least make your monthly spending balance.

Now it is time to let Mint save you money. Watch as more transactions come into the system and how your spending is matching your budget.

You’re also able to set saving goals which are then aided by the budget you set.

After years of using the system I can attest to the power of the free app and promise that if you use it and listen to it, you will save money.
