Stanley Park is a Must-See Vancouver Attraction

Stanley Park is a Must-See Vancouver Attraction

Vancouver is the eight largest city in Canada, and one of its most vibrant. At the heart of this city is the 1000 acre Stanley Park, a one-of-a-kind green space and tourist attraction. More than eight million people visit this park every year, and if you plan to be one of them, make sure to check out these park highlights.

The Vancouver Aquarium

This aquarium is the biggest in Canada, and is located inside Stanley Park. Tourists can see more than 6000 different species on display here. Local species are highlighted in a gallery called “Treasures of the BC Coast,” while the “Canada’s Arctic” gallery exhibits more northern species.

The Seawall

A stone wall circles the perimeter of the park to prevent erosion, and tourists can walk, run, or bike along this paved wall. This is the most popular part of the park, and provides more than 13 miles of scenic coastal views.

Totem Poles

Eight totem poles, some dating back to the 1880s, are on display within the park. These totem poles are a beautiful example of native artwork and are one of the most popular tourist attractions in the province.

Prospect Point

Prospect Point is the highest location in the park, and provides stunning views of West Vancouver, the North Shore Mountains and the Burrard Inlet. Tourists should bring a pair of binoculars and their camera to get the most out of this scenic overlook.

Vancouver is a vibrant city with lots to do, but any international tourist should start their visit in Stanley Park.
