Mathematical! A New Adventure Time Game Coming To Major Consoles

In a recent press release, D3Publisher announced the upcoming release of an all new Adventure Time game.  This will be the first Adventure Time game to enter the non-handheld console market.

The new game, Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW! is slated for a fall release on the Wii U, XBOX 360, PS3, PC, and 3DS.

So far, very little information has been revealed about the new title.  What is known is that the new action game will feature many of the series’ major characters.

D3Publisher has revealed that players will have to save “Candy Kingdom by exploring the mysteries surrounding a massive Secret Royal Dungeon deep below the Land of Ooo.”

Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!, will be developed by WayForward and series creator Pendleton Ward.

WayForward was the developer of Adventure Time’s late 2012 release: Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!.

While generally well received, the Zelda-esque Hey Ice King suffered critically due to its short game length.

In his GamingUnion review, Spencer Pressly explained that “you end up with a funny story that ends sooner than most might expect from a retail game – it’s difficult not to be disappointed”.

Although Hey Ice King was only released on the Nintendo DS, it does raise the question as to whether the next release will contain enough content to make it worthy of a console release.

What do you think?  Will the Explore the Dungeon meet major console standards?  Have you played Hey Ice King?  Tell us your thoughts below!
