Laundry Pods Harm Thousands Of Children – Poison In Your Home!

Thousands of young children have been poisoned by laundry detergent pods since they became popular.

These laundry detergent pods or packets look like candy so many kids have been fooled by the colorful appearance.

17, 230 young children suffered injury from the product between 2012 and 2013, discovered a study published Monday by Pediatrics, a medical journal.

769 US children suffered serious injury resulting in hospitalization. One child died after swallowing the laundry pod.

While many of the injuries were not life threatening, 30 young children were comatose and 12 experienced seizures.

The laundry pods offer convenience to many busy parents, but packaging for the product is not childproof.
In 2012, the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention had called on clinicians to be on the lookout for symptoms from laundry pod ingestion from children.

The laundry pods contain a high concentration of laundry detergent, so it is easy to see why just one pod can cause serious injury to a young child. Injury is not limited to swallowing, but also skin and eye injury and/or inhalation.

A laundry safety campaign offers guidance to parents and caregivers with the aim to reduce the number of children being harmed by laundry pods.
