Jurassic World Director Opens Up After Plot Leaks

In the wake of last week’s plot leaks about the upcoming Jurassic World, the film’s director, Colin Trevorrow, has responded to the leaks and shared a little more information about the movie.

With regard to the leak, Trevorrow said “I hope whoever leaked it is actively trying to undermine what we’re doing. Because if they’re trying to help, they’re doing it wrong.”

Trevorrow also divulged that the movie will take place 22 years after the original Jurassic Park movie, and will explore the themes of greed and indifference to scientific discovery.

The director also revealed information about the dinosaurs we can expect to see, saying “there will be one new dinosaur created by the park’s geneticists. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA.”

Trevorrow also said that dinosaur isn’t unlike what Michael Crichton depicted in his novels, explaining, “This animal is not a mutant freak.”

Trevorrow is also writing the screenplay for Jurassic World, which will be the second feature film he’s directing after 2012’s Safety Not Guaranteed. It stars Chris Pratt, Judy Greer, and Bryce Dallas Howard, amongst others.  The film hits theaters June 12, 2015.

What do you think about the Jurassic World leaks?  How about Trevorrow’s response?  Let us know below.
