iPhone 6 Bending: What New Users Should Know

It appears that Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are experiencing an unforeseen issue: bending.

Reports of ‘bending’ iPhones are popping up all over social media sites. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus feature an extremely thin aluminum shell. This, combined with the phones’ larger sizes, seems to be spreading the durability of the iPhone a little too thinly over a little too much space.

Several iPhone 6 users have posted YouTube videos showing just how much their iPhones are able to bend.

The issue is that, not only do the new iPhones bend out of shape, they do not bend back. This means that users hoping to prevent further bending are unable to fit their iPhones into hard cases.

The LG Flex, which featured a curved designed, was a smartphone designed to bend slightly, in order to prevent it from being too brittle. This, however, was not Apple’s intention with the new iPhones.

The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have mainly been bending while in people’s pockets. Many users are returning their iPhones because they don’t want to have to deal with an everyday product that requires so much care.

It is unclear whether Apple plans to propose a solution for the iPhone’s bending problem.

Your thoughts? Is Apple’s “latest and greatest” worth the extra care and attention? How should Apple respond to the growing number of issues users are experiencing with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus?
