How A Wi-Fi Connection Can Make Your Smartphone Battery Last Longer

Android users often wonder which consumes battery life more, a Wi-Fi connection or a mobile network connection.

The answer lies in difference between the consumption of energy by both.

When using a mobile network connection for browsing the internet, there’s a lot of distance between the transmitter and the device, which means the device has to consume more energy for getting a strong connection.

With Wi-Fi, the signal is quite strong, as the Wi-Fi device can be placed near to the Android device, and there’s not much need for energy to be consumed in order to get a good connection.

Therefore, a Wi-Fi connection consumes less battery life compared to mobile network connection.

Users are also advised to toggle off the hotspot feature of the phone or tablet when not being used in order to save battery.
