Gigantic Spaceships Duke It Out 5v5 in Dreadnought

If you’ve ever fancied captaining a ship like the Battlestar Galactica or the Imperial Star Destroyer, then you will definitely want to keep an eye out for Dreadnought.

Dreadnought’s developers, Greybox, has released a gameplay commentary video – voiced by game director Peter Holzapfel and designer Eino Joas – showing the ponderous yet frighteningly destructive powers of these airborne battleships.

The developers label its game as an aerial armada action shooter that puts players in the helm of a ship of their choice.

There are different classes for each Dreadnought, from heavy destroyers that dish out tons of damage to support cruisers that heal their allies and corvettes that perform surgical strikes against vulnerable foes.

Good battlefield awareness coupled with tight teamwork and accurate alpha strikes rule the day in the game, where a solid broadside barrage will knock out a cornered Dreadnought with ease.

Ship customization will also play a big role in shaping a player’s Dreadnought, from weapon load-outs and engine setups to the crew you bring on-board and aesthetic enhancements to make your ship your own.

Greybox plans to implement a free-to-play model for Dreadnought, and will enter beta testing some time in 2015.
