Final Trailer For “Spectre” Offers New Hints On Bond Thriller

After a 44-year retirement from the silver screen, one of the spy world’s most notorious organizations is coming back.

Their name is Spectre. If you have never heard of them, ask your parents or your grandparents. They may have a vague recollection of the well-heeled crime syndicate that was a persistent thorn in James Bond’s side back in the super spy’s early years.

You remember Bond, James Bond — the lady-killer with the cleft chin, British manners and impeccable suits. You might also remember him as the most famous MI6 operative of all time or by his deadly code name, double aught seven.

Bond we know,  but Eon Productions is bringing back the secret crime organization Spectre for the first time since the 1971 release of Diamonds Are Forever. Way back when, Spectre was dropped from the silver screen for the crime of being kind of boring and dated. Still, they remain one of Bond’s most storied cloak and dagger antagonists. These guys didn’t shake down your corner liquor store; they intimidated countries, even hemispheres. They are bad, bad, very bad.

This is the last trailer prior to the film’s release, which is scheduled for Oct. 26. It stars Daniel Craig in his fourth turn as James Bond, Christoph Waltz as Spectre’s Franz Oberhauser, Ben Whishaw as Q and Naomi Harris as legs and brains Eve Moneypenny. The screenplay is by John Logan, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade and Jez Butterworth. It was directed by Skyfall director Sam Mendes.
