Feast of San Gennaro 2015: Dates, Events, Street Closings & More

The 2015 Feast of San Gennaro starts tomorrow (Thursday, September 10th) in NYC’s Little Italy and News For Shoppers has all the details.

This is the 89th annual feast, which celebrates the patron Saint of Naples and is considered the ultimate Italian festival with lots of food, street vendors, performances and more for everyone.

Whether you plan to attend or will be traveling in the area we have all the information you need, from the dates and times the feast will be held to special events and street closings.

Dates & Times:

The feast runs from Thursday, September 10th through Sunday, September 20th in the historic lower Manhattan neighborhood of Little Italy (on Mulberry between Canal and Houston; and Grand and Hester between Mott and Baxter).

It will be open each day from 11:30 A.M. (EST) until 11 P.M. (EST).

Events:

Each day there will be different events and performances on the FESTIVAL STAGE, located at the corners of Grand and Mott Streets.

There will be Free music entertainment every night from 7 P.M. (EST) to 9:30 PM (EST), along with Free music and/or food demos and lectures every afternoon between 2 P.M. (EST) 5 P.M. (EST)

The Grand Procession: The procession takes place on Saturday, September 12th at 2 P.m. (EST) and is the 1st parade of the feast; Tony Danza will be Grand Marshall.

There will be various floats, marching bands, dancers and more as the procession makes it’s way through the streets with Statue of San Gennaro.

Street Closings:

The streets in Little Italy where the feast takes place will be closed to traffic each day from 7 A.M. (EST) to midnight, so plan for alternate routes if you travel through the area.
