Taco Bell’s introduction of the grilled breakfast burrito has fast food fanatics everywhere fired up.

What damage will it do to your waistline?

The new burrito weighs in with 350 calories and 17 grams of fat. How does this compare to other fast food breakfast items?

McDonald’s sausage McMuffin is packed with 370 calories and 23 grams of fat, while Burger King’s sausage burrito meal option comes in with 540 calories and 33 grams of fat.

Of course, these numbers do not include the typical sides of hash-browns, juice, or any other of your favorites. Adding on McDonald’s hash-browns and a 12 ounce orange juice would increase the meal by 300 calories.

American nutrition guidelines generally aim for total daily consumption of 2000 calories or less, depending on your needs.

Shoppers on a sodium restricted diet will need to choose carefully. Fast food items are generally high in sodium.

Are there healthier options? Lower calorie options include yogurt parfait and no-meat options.

Items highest in calorie count include McDonald’s all inclusive big breakfast with hotcakes, Taco Bell’s Grande scrambled burritos, and breakfast crunch-wraps. McDonald’s big breakfast weighs in at 1090 calories; over half of what a typical American should eat daily!
