With officially less than a month until the Series 8 premiere of ‘Doctor Who,’ show runner Steven Moffat teased an entire season’s worth of spoilers with all twelve episode descriptions.
If you’re a Whovian who can’t wait to see Peter Capaldi as the latest incarnation of the Doctor, read on with caution: massive season 8 spoilers from here on out!
Speaking to SFX Magazine, Moffat revealed that the August 23rd premiere of ‘Doctor Who’ will be “huge introductory hour” with Clara (Jenna Coleman), clearly distraught at losing her friend (the eleventh Doctor, played by Matt Smith) and struggling to get to know this unfamiliar new Doctor in his place (Peter Capaldi).
Moffat also revealed that ‘Doctor Who’ classic baddies the Daleks and the Cybermen will make their return to the small screen this fall. The Cybermen will feature prominently in an epic two-part finale.
There will be a fairytale episode, Robin Hood, UNIT (!), flashbacks to earlier Matt Smith episodes, a Moffat-penned episode, and even a horror episode (perhaps just in time for Halloween?) – but it’s important to note that Moffat most definitely does not envision Series 8 as a fairytale for the good Doctor. “I think it feels more serious,” he told SFX.
The ‘Doctor Who’ Series 8 premiere airs on Saturday, August 23 at 8PM EDT/7PM CDT.
I know this loyal Whovian be watching… will you?
