Cricket Revamps iPhone Plans, Lowers Prices

Cricket $50 iPhone planCricket introduced their iPhone plans in 2012.

At the start, the company was the only prepaid carrier offering Apple’s smartphone, but other low-cost rivals joined in later.

Today, the wireless carrier announced new iPhone plans, dropping prices and bringing the cost closer to their Android lineup.

Plans now start at $50 per month for unlimited everything. This includes the Muve Music service, unlimited talk time, and unlimited texting.

However, users will only receive 1 GB of 3G or 4G data, and there will be charges for any over-the-limit use.

On the other hand, the $60 plan comes with 2.5 GB, and $70 plan features 5 GB (both at full speed data). These two plans include unlimited talk time and text messages as well.

All three plans from the carrier also feature mobile hotspot.

Apart from these three plans, Cricket also introduced a new two-line family plan. Both lines are priced at $40. The plan comes with Muve Music service, unlimited talk time and text and 1 GB of full-speed data.

As for the actual price of the iPhones – their iPhone 5 is available for $499, the iPhone 4S is $349 and iPhone 4 is $249, after mail-in rebates.
