Craig Ferguson to Say Goodbye

Craig Ferguson to Say Goodbye

Weeks after late night legend David Letterman announced his plans to retire, more retirement news is coming out of the CBS.

Late night television is about to undergo yet another change. It was announced today that Craig Ferguson, the host of the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson will be stepping down in December.

Ferguson, the wisecracking comic from Scotland first left an impression on American television fans as Drew Carey’s boss on The Drew Carey Show. He made his first splash in the late night pool in January of 2005.

Over the past nine years, Craig has taken the stage nightly accompanied only by a horse named Secretariat and his sidekick a robot named Geoff Peterson. The robot was designed by Grant Imahara, of MythBusters fame.

While the show does not have a consistent band, Ferguson has managed to book some big name musical acts, including Richie Sambora who played for a week straight.

Fans have been treated to shows from around the world as Craig took the show back to his native Scotland over the years. It should be interesting to see how the man who greets the television crowd with a tap on the screen and his catchphrase ‘It’s a great day for America’ every night finishes his run on CBS.

Goodbyes don’t have to be said quite yet as the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson will continue to grace television screens until December. Until then fans can catch up on highlights by visiting the show’s CBS page.
