Chrysler releases recall information for faulty air-bag components

Chrysler has reveled its plans to recall approximately 184,215 SUV’s globally.

The recall is to replace a faulty Occupant Restraint Control Modules. This module manages the implementation of air-bags and seat-belt pre-tensioners.

Faulty modules have internally short circuited and could cause the air-bag warning light to illuminate signalling the driver to the disabling of the supplemental restraint systems.

Chrysler is unaware of any accidents or injuries related to this trouble and plans to repair the affected vehicles, and will contact owners of the affected 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee’s and Dodge Durango’s.

The ORC modules will be replaced in an estimated 126,772 U.S. vehicles, 8,106 in Canada, 3722 in Mexico and 45,615 in other markets.
