The heavily anticipated Zombies Mode was finally revealed to the world by developer Treyarch in a special preview event.
The zombie mode has grown bigger this time around, and has three modes of gameplay.
At the event Treyarch boss Mark Lamia expressed, “It’s born out of the passion of the team.”. The event also showcased multiplayer content and the all new trailer of the Zombies Mode.
Speaking about adding a narrative to the Zombies Mode, he added, “The story is kind of crowd-sourced. It’s this phenomenon. It was amazing, when we put it out, people wanted to attach a story to it and you saw them start to do it.”
Let’s have a look at the three modes that are part of the Zombies Mode :
Tranzit: This is a Four-player co-op mode, having a expansive world for the players to explore, there is no confinement to one specific area and the players will be able to roam about. This will add the dimension of having strategic attacks and multiple approaches to get rid of infestations.
To add to the drama of a closed environment, as seen in the trailer there will be a stage where the zombies attack a moving bus. This will lead to close quarters combat with thrilling action. As with previous editions, players will be able to gather resources to reveal new parts of the open world.
Survival: The classic survival mode brings back the flavors of the Zombies Mode from previous editions. Like before, players will be dropped off into an isolated part of the Tranzit mode, and will have to develop their base and fend off the attacking hordes of Zombies.
Grief: This is a new mode which combines the competitive aspects of multiplayer and survival mode. Here two teams with 4 members each are dropped off into a part of the Tranzit world and have to outlive each other to win the game. “It’s really humans versus zombies, because the zombies don’t care what team you’re on. They just want human flesh and brains,” said Lamia.
Apart from the new modes, Zombies Mode will have extensive stat tracking, leaderboards and custom game setups. This will add much needed mutiplayer aspects, customized for the Zombies Mode.
Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 will be releasing on November 13, 2012.
