Best Buy Offering Free iPhone 5 With Smartphone Trade In

Free iPhone 5 Offer From Best Buy Good To Sept 16Best Buy is offering a free iPhone 5 (16gb) to any shopper who trades in their current smartphone at any one of their many retail outlets.

According to a recent press release by the company, up until the 16th of September, anyone who trades in a working smartphone will receive a minimum of $100 credit towards the purchase of a brand (spanking) new iPhone 5.

With the iPhone now retailing for exactly $100, any customer taking advantage of this deal will essentially be able to upgrade their current phone, to an iphone 5,  for free (barring sales tax and activation fees).

What’s the Catch?

To my surprise there really is no “catch” to speak of.

To be eligible for the deal, a customer’s phone must have a working power button and, of course, be able to turn on. Shoppers must also be eligible for an upgrade (with their current phone carrier) and, will also have to sign up for a two year contract with with any of the (Best Buy) approved wireless providers ( AT&T, Sprint or Verizon).

How Much Will I Get?

According to Best Buy, customers who bring in smartphones that are in good condition, and are worth more than the minimum guaranteed amount, will receive the difference in the form of a Best Buy gift card valid at every store location nationwide.

Obviously not every smartphone will be able to qualify for this deal. Best Buy has uploaded a list to their website containing all the eligible makes and models, as well as, an estimate of how much shoppers are likely to get once the phones are traded in.

This offer will expire on September 16th.
