Beech-Nut Issues Nationwide Recall After Injury Due To Glass Found In Jars

Beech-Nut Nutrition, a N.Y. based company,  has issued a nationwide recall on over 1,900 jars of  baby food due to glass contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) .

The recall is for the 4 ounce glass jars containing “Stage 2 Beech-Nut CLASSICS sweet potato & chicken”, which were shipped to stores across America.

The jars are marked with the establishment number “P-68A” inside the USDA mark of inspection and have an expiration date of December, 2016.

Product numbers for the jars are “12395750815” through “12395750821”.

Beech-Nut became aware of the recall after a customer reported finding glass; FSIS has also reported that there has been one oral injury due to the glass contamination.

At this time there is no word on how the glass got into the jars.

Consumers who have the product in question can return it to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.

Anyone who has question or concerns about the recall can contact the Beech-Nut Consumer Hotline at (866) 674-4446.
