Apple Reveals OS X 10.11 El Capitan

Apple has announced their newest operating system for Mac devices at its WWDC conference in San Francisco. The system is called OS X El Capitan, and its focus is to make everything feel a lot smoother and more polished for users.

The focus of the OS is to make everything much more simple, and function similarly to the iPhone’s iOS.

The mail system has been completely revamped. Deleting messages is now as simple as a swipe on the trackpad. Images from other messages can even dragged into new ones for an easier time handling multiple emails.

If audio is playing but you don’t know where its coming from, then you can stop it with one tap.

Taking a page out of Windows’ book, Apple introduced a new feature referred to as “Split View.” This lets you work with two windows at the same time, side by side, with each other.

El Capitan will also support Metal, which is a new programming language for gaming first introduced in iOS 8. This gives developers access to better tools for developing game engines.

The update is available for all developers today. A public beta starts in July, and the update is available to everyone starting in the fall.

Excited for El Capitan? Tell us all about it in the comments!
